Enchanted Polishes & glitters, oh my!

Sorry I haven't posted in so long!

Life keeps happening. My grandfather was in the hospital and had to have surgery, so I was very worried about him, but fortunately he was able to come back home.

Also, my birthday was on the 9th. It was uneventful but hey, I'm 29 now.

Anyway, I have some manis to share from before I broke my nails and had to go to nubs! The worst break was my pointer finger.. and it happened trying on knee braces, believe it or not.

Without further adieu, here are some swatches!

Pointer & pinky- Enchanted Polish February 2013
Middle and ring finger- Too Fancy Lacquer- the Crown Jewel
I also did an experiment with this mani- since I have both Lumina Lacqurs Mucking Rainbows and Prismatic, I layered them over the Too Fancy color to see the difference.
Prismatic has a lot of beautiful flakies in addition to mulicolored, large circle glitters.
Mucking Rainbows is one of the polishes I am happiest to own, and I love how one of the green dots almost looks matte on my nail.

This is another mani I did with February 2014.
My middle finger nail is topped with Bellisima by Emily de Molly. Bellissima is a gorgeous, dainty glitter topper.
My ring finger has Diamond in the Rough by Lilypad Lacquer.
The beauty on my pointer, middle, and pinky fingers is Enchanted Polish- April 2014.
My middle finger is topped with Emily de Molly, LE 02.It is a lovely lavender/light purple, with hearts in it!
The ring is Colors by Llarowe- My Big Girls Panties. I wish I had holo underwear like that!

I still have some catching up to do, so you will get to see a few more pictures that I took before having to cut my nails! I miss them and it will take what feels like forever for them to grow back!

33 Day Challenge Day 3- Tape Mani

One day, I will actually get these done on the day I'm supposed to and not the day after!

I was on antibiotics for a sinus and respiratory infection (plus the inside of my ears were red.. and my ears had been ringing). You have to take the antibiotic with food and I tried to take it with a veggie bagel and I ended up getting really bad stomach cramps and having to lie down.. ugh.

Anyway, here's my attempt at a tape mani. I used Santorini by Contrary Polish as a base on all my nails. The lighter blue is my custom, Pastel Heaven by Lilypad Lacquers (which is also mixed into my accent nails.) Then I topped it all with Shifty Smurf by Love Thy Polish. On my regular nails I used Turbulence by Emily by Molly as a glitter topper.

On my accent nails, I used Scorn by Illamasqua, and had the tape applied diagonally. I really like how it turned out after I took it off. For some reason it made me think of the 80's

I tried to ix my ring fingernail because some of the glitters from the Turbulence got into my Pastel Heaven.. and I ended up messing it up.

I love the brightness of the different sparkles in turbulence!

By the way, I have to give credit.. when I was looking for ideas for tape manis, I found this one on That's So Fresh and although mine did not turn out anywhere near as cool as hers, I tried!

Crows Toes Chess. . .You Dog! & Storms Never Last

I've been trying to make this post FOREVER... but I can't get fotoflexr to work in Chrome. My flash keeps saying "Movie not loaded" and I've tried everything.. uninstalling, deleting the files, etc... so if anyone has suggestions, let me know. I broke down and used Firefox for this post, but I'm a creature of habit.

I got 2 of the new Crows Toes polishes during the Llarowe restock.. (yes...  like everyone else, I wanted Minion and One Trick Pony, but they were sold out.)

But I love blue (and green. and purple.)! So of course I got Chess!.... You Dog! & Storms Never Last (which is a multichrome including blue, green, and purple!

I am wearing- Emily de Molly Blueprint on my thumb, index finger, & pinky, and Storms Never Last with Glam polish Star Candy over it on my ring finger.

I did Star Candy again since some people have said it's close to Enchanted Polish *69 and I hadn't noticed! Also, I managed to place the stars and glitter in a pretty cool way this time.

I have Chess!..... You Dog! on over a blue gradient.

My left thumb, with Storms Never Last by itself (sorry, my thumb is still a little swollen/gross looking :( )

Look what happens when you put Djinn in a Bottle over Storms Never Last! There's a Double Rainbow on my nail!!!

Star Candy with Indigo Flow and a Theory of Everything

This is one of the last pictures I took before I had to cut my nails!

Mei Mei's Signatures is sharing a lot of pictures of her exclusive color from Glam Polish,Star Candy. (isn't that the cutest name?)

So I finally got the nerve to share this picture with her. I just didn't take note of all the other colors I used because my nails were on their last legs and this is really the only picture I got where they looked halfway decent.

For me, it took 2 coats to actually get some stars on my nails, and a little dabbing. I actually had to reapply the stars because some fell off, but I was silly and didn't do any topcoat after I dabbed them onto my middle finger the first time. So I definitely got more Candy than Stars, and my nails kinda looked like a neon disco ball at first. But they were still cute.

I did do a holo gradient on my middle finger and I remember tht the top color is Layla Emerald Divine. The color on my ring finger is Emily de Molly Blueprint, which has been a lemming of mine FOREVER. When I finally got that color I actually said out loud "MY LIFE IS COMPLETE!" I was so happy. (The glitter on top is Coco Allure a Theory of Everything.) It really is a Theory of Everything, so I used it sparingly, and I'm not known to do that!

I think the color on my thumb, index finger, and pinky is Emily de Molly Indigo Flow. I absolutely LOVE Emily de Molly holos so when I saw that Mei Mei had them in stock, I was so happy.

I'm really mad at myself for not getting Chasing Rainbows now, especially since I saw someone on Facebook post a picture of it in a necklace and it was in stock on another site just 3 days ago!

Whimsy, Ciao Milano, & Oceanic Forces

So now not only did my middle fingernail become a nub, my ring fingernail did too! I might just cut them all to balance everything out.

I do have a few swatches that I didn't post yet.

Here is one featuring one of my absolute favorite shades of blue, Whimsy by Picture Polish. I actually got a lot of compliments on my mani that day.

I have a few colors by Picture Polish and they are easy to apply. They are color-accurate as far as bottles and swatches, so if you get one you won't be disappointed. The only thing I was ever "meh" about was Revolution (the glitter peel-off basecoat) but that's for another review. :) If anyone else has tried it, let me know what you thought of it!

Index and pinky- Whimsy (the index finger also has a holo topcoat by Pixie Polish- unfortunately right now she had to close her etsy store) Middle finger has Enchanted Ciao Milano, and the ring finger has Emily de Molly Oceanic Forces! I was so happy when I finally got Oceanic Forces! It took me at least 3 or 4 tries to finally get it.

I took this picture outside. Maybe I should have used some more Glitter Food on my ring fingr? LOL

Inside with flash (makes it hard to read the bottle, huh?)

no flash, naturally blurry
For some reason the living in my lighting room is really great at picking up holos!
