a Holo-Gasm with an Ice Castle and Lucky Stars

This was sort of a nail experiment. I finally got Enchanted Ice Castle (remember my Castle on a Cloud mishap?) Ice Castle IS actually blue and purple, like I wanted. (This is over black)

I also got Darling Diva lucky star- because I love anything with stars and this is also supposed to glow in the dark, and in blacklight. However, I didn't realize that Darling Diva is not as sheer as I thought it was- so what I did on my middle finger over a blue and purple  is definitely a don't- but I was going to a bar that had a blacklight that night and I left this as is.

On my ring finger I used some Jade and Ozotic beam polishes over blak to make a rainbow- but do you know what made everything so wonderful and shiny?

Nail Nation 3000 Silver hologasm. Maria means it when she says hologasm. Look at this. This picture is not edited (except for my watermark)- I was just outside and the sun ACTUALLY MADE MY NAIL SPARKLE LIKE THAT.

I will have to take a picture of it in normal indoor lighting sometime, because the silver sparkles make it look like you literally have jewelry shining on your nails.

I also used Sephora UV topcoat- because even after I tried activating my polish with my blacklight, it did not glow in the dark. I don't know if I got a bad bottle or what. Can anyone please tell me? I have seen other people with swatches of this polish glowing in the dark.

I still love the stars, but check out how awesome this holo looks in the blacklight! It looks like foil flames!

This one was done with the "Night" setting in photobucket. It shows more of the colors where the Darling Diva stars are. But it also shows a bunch of lines/staticky crap from my phone, which I apologize for.

Hare Hooky at the Hamlet/emerald birthstone mani

Hi everyone! Sorry for not posting in awhile- I do have a few pictures leftover from before my awkward nail break, so I'll try to get caught up ASAP.

Have you ever based a manicure around one color beause you like it so much? That is what I did with HARE polish Hooky at the Hamlet. I was so happy when it was finally back in stock at Llarowe.

I did make it slightly darker by layering it over an Ozotic multichrome. Check here to see the original color (it's a lovely cyan on its own)
If memory serves correctly, my thumb and pinky nail are HITS chameleon, my wonky index finger was one of the new HITS multichrome holos (I have Super Cute and Sweet Dreams) and the middle finger was one I was very excited to get from a group- Green Peace on Earth by Enchanted.

I also was using an excuse to wear lots of green nail polish because my birthday was last month. I'm really loving emerald (my birthstone) being the color of the year this year- although I know my ring finger and the darker flashes on my thumb and pinky are the only emerald looking ones this time.

Blue holo & Nail fails!

Lately, I've been having a lot of nail fails- with holos I've had shrinkage and had the black basecoat becoming very visible around the edges, I've had polishes refuse to dry and become smudge city- just basically hot messes!

I actually started writing this on the 25th because I just wasn't happy with anything I've done with my nails lately, but I decided I'll post anyway- especially since now I broke one of my nails pretty badly. It cracked in the corner and I tried to repair it, but it didn't really work so well.

Does anyone have tips on how to fix your nails when they crack in the corners?

The other day I took a picture of my nails under a blacklight and that was really the only way they looked decent.

This was when I was outside. I had decided to compare a Jindie Nails holo (Blue Ivy), a Joss Holographic (Carribean Blue) and on my ring fingernail I tried the blue Sally Hansen Sugar Coat color- although the texture isn't really standing out in the picture. I also put some Ozotic Sugar on the top of that nail but that also isn't standing out. When I was inside, I thought my nails looked kind of wintery- but not outside! These are some blindingly bright colors!

By the way, I'm still kicking myself for not getting the white Sally Hansen Sugar Coat when I was at CVS because now I can't find it anywhere else! Target doesn't carry it and neither Kroger I've been to even has the Sugar Coat collection yet.

You can see the difference between the colors (as well as the Sugar Coat texture and Ozotic glitter on my ring finger) much more clearly inside.

The Blue Ivy color is darker and is on my pinky and index fingers. The JOSS Holographic is amazingly bright and is on my middle finger.

Skittles and Accidental Rainbow Nails

These are the first swatches I have been brave enough to show anybody,

The first is a.. sort of skittles inspired by the very nice followgashin. Here is a link to the great mani that she did.

From left to right I used:
Essie Dive Bar as a base color. My pointer finger and pinky are layered with Girly bits Cosmic Ocean. My ring finger has Hits Cutie Pie, with another layer of Ozotic 903 to add some sparkle.

My middle finger has Zoya Zuza on it. So does my thumb.

A few days later, I created an accidental rainbow!

I had Zoya Zuza on my thumb, and was trying a rainbow foil for the first time. I had no idea what I was doing but I ended up with some cool rainbows left behind.

Welcome to my first swatching adventure and thanks for reading!
