Ruby White Tips- Man Eater with Zoya Posh

This post is a bit overdue.

I was so excited that Hall & Oates were inducted to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame! I did a mani with Ruby White Tips Maneater and Zoya Posh.

Maneater looks like a jelly polish, but it has a lot more depth and opacity. It is a truly beautiful polish. It seems to have a bluish/purple undertone. It's hard for me to find shades of red that look good on my skin tone, but this one truly does. I love the different multcolored glittery flecks in this polish as well.

I think I should have used another coat because on my ring finger, I ended up with a bald spot.

I paired it with Zoya Posh because it's also dark red, but Posh has a more pink undertone. Since it's matte, it was a little harder to work with.

I used the Pretty & Polished Matte is Back topcoat to try to smooth it out a little bit.

I had to get a bottle shot because I love how Laura (the Ruby White Tips creator) decorates these lids!

You can find her polish at www.rubywhitetips.com

Of course, I have to close this post with Maneater. I love this song. Sometimes I sing it at karaoke.

Catching up, manis from Instagram

So I still haven't been feeling well but I have posted a few manis on Instagram while I've been under the weather (literally- I'm not just fighting bronchitis, but I live in one of the places that got a crazy amount of snow! Then, we had windchills that this state had not seen in the past 20 years and there were a lot of power outages. Fortunately mine were intermittent and didn't last long, but now that the snow is starting to melt, we are experiencing flooding. Everything was shut down here for almost a week. Just so you all know, my name on instagram is chocoholofreak, so these will be tagged differently.

Literary Lacquers If It Pleases You with an accent of Colors by Laura K You're Shrinking, Gilbert!
The Literary Lacquers took 2-3 coats to reach full opacity because it's a jelly holo. I thought it would be darker, but maybe it looks darker on other people because of their skin tone? It is a really nice color with a strong holo. My grandmother really liked the color on me when she saw it, and she even said she would wear it- and she almost never wears nail polish and almost no makeup except lipstick.
The Colors by Laura K speaks for itself- it's a nice shimmery purple, and she said that she used something different than glitter to facilitate easy removal. There is also holo in it. I do't know how she did it, but it really didn't take forever to get off or a huge amount of effort. I didn't think to use glitter-a-peel or anything first so it did take me 2 tries but it was no hassle.

This was my mani for New Years' Eve! On my pinky and pointer finger are Girly Bits Purple Potion. On my ring and middle finger are Zoya Carter, a textured purple polish. I was surprised at how closely these matched on my camera, since Carter is a more red-toned purple. My ring finger has Cirque XX, which I've previously mentioned is my favorite rainbow glitter so far. (warning- post contains adult language)

Anyway, I had a really bad break on my middle fingernail that turned out to be beyond repair, and then on my right hand my thumbnail broke down really low (like bandaid for a week low) so I didn't do my nails at all for awhile. The nails on my right hand were so short that I had to use Rejuvacote to even get them to nub status. So the next post you see from me will probably be my rarely seen right hand.

33 Day Challenge Day 6: Texture

The challenge was to use textured nail polish.. and now I see why people hate it so much. I have barely used it before.

From thumb to pinky I used: Zoya Dahlia, a french nail with OPI Can't Let Go & Zoya Stevie (I'm puzzled about why in the picture it looks lke my nail has bald spots when I used 2 coats of Stevie?)

For the gradients I used Dahlia, Can't Let Go, OPI Tiffany Case, and Stevie. On my Pinky is Indigo Illusion by Liquid Sky Lacquer. It is not textured, and it is a thermal holo that creates a gradient on its own depending on the temperature. Since I get cold easily (as you can see by my sweatshirt sleeve which makes an appearance in my pictures today, you will see my free edge turning purple :) )

This picture is with topcoat. I also used Glitter Food by Nail Pattern Boldness to smooth it out- especially on my ring finger!
'
I actually really like the Zoya Dahlia and could see myself doing a full mani with it.

Check out the other ladies who did this challenge!

Dance Legends!!! New Prisms Optical Illusion & Cosmic Rainbow, Sahara Crystal Amethyst

I will have a lot of exclamation points in this post, because I waited about a month for this polish to arrive!

I was so happy to get a knock on the door from the mailman and see a box with Russian writing on it!

And you know me- I can't just wear on one color at once.

I am wearing: on my pointer and pinky finger: New Prism no 4 Optical Illusion (red toned purple) middle finger New Prism no 10 Cosmic Rainbow (blue toned purple) and on ring finger (accent nail) the sahara crystal amethyst. I used Zoya Pixie Dust Dahlia on the tip- I thought the black and purple would look really cool together.

These first two pictures were taken inside. The polish is so reflective(!) that it looks like there is polish on the palm of my hand(!), but there isn't! Unnecessary exclamation points FTW!!!

I accidentally got a blurry picture- I have seen some bloggers say they blur photos to emphasize holo/glitter in polish but you guys get to see the natural result of my shaky hands LOL

This was taken outside the next day.  I really don't have words for how beautiful these colors are!

Skittles and Accidental Rainbow Nails

These are the first swatches I have been brave enough to show anybody,

The first is a.. sort of skittles inspired by the very nice followgashin. Here is a link to the great mani that she did.

From left to right I used:
Essie Dive Bar as a base color. My pointer finger and pinky are layered with Girly bits Cosmic Ocean. My ring finger has Hits Cutie Pie, with another layer of Ozotic 903 to add some sparkle.

My middle finger has Zoya Zuza on it. So does my thumb.

A few days later, I created an accidental rainbow!

I had Zoya Zuza on my thumb, and was trying a rainbow foil for the first time. I had no idea what I was doing but I ended up with some cool rainbows left behind.

Welcome to my first swatching adventure and thanks for reading!
