a Holo-Gasm with an Ice Castle and Lucky Stars

This was sort of a nail experiment. I finally got Enchanted Ice Castle (remember my Castle on a Cloud mishap?) Ice Castle IS actually blue and purple, like I wanted. (This is over black)

I also got Darling Diva lucky star- because I love anything with stars and this is also supposed to glow in the dark, and in blacklight. However, I didn't realize that Darling Diva is not as sheer as I thought it was- so what I did on my middle finger over a blue and purple  is definitely a don't- but I was going to a bar that had a blacklight that night and I left this as is.

On my ring finger I used some Jade and Ozotic beam polishes over blak to make a rainbow- but do you know what made everything so wonderful and shiny?

Nail Nation 3000 Silver hologasm. Maria means it when she says hologasm. Look at this. This picture is not edited (except for my watermark)- I was just outside and the sun ACTUALLY MADE MY NAIL SPARKLE LIKE THAT.

I will have to take a picture of it in normal indoor lighting sometime, because the silver sparkles make it look like you literally have jewelry shining on your nails.

I also used Sephora UV topcoat- because even after I tried activating my polish with my blacklight, it did not glow in the dark. I don't know if I got a bad bottle or what. Can anyone please tell me? I have seen other people with swatches of this polish glowing in the dark.

I still love the stars, but check out how awesome this holo looks in the blacklight! It looks like foil flames!

This one was done with the "Night" setting in photobucket. It shows more of the colors where the Darling Diva stars are. But it also shows a bunch of lines/staticky crap from my phone, which I apologize for.

Enchanted & Rainbow Honey

Here is another catch-up post for you!

I finally got a couple of polishes from the Enchanted Time to Pretend collection! I am wearing Kids in this one and I am very impressed by it!'

I also got a beautiful Rainbow Honey color called Sakura Matsuri. This is the first Rainbow Honey color I have ever had. The flowers really sucked me in.

I did a green gradient on my ring finger before layering the Rainbow Honey over it, but it was a hot mess. I used a dark green base color, then Darling Diva What You Do For Money Honey (I tried that by itself first, but it is very sheer) and on the tip of my nail I used NFU  056- a very bright green, pretty glitter.

The flowers came out too fast when I was working on my ring finger! They remind me of a beaded curtain pattern like on the cover of one of Britney Spears' old albums. (ew I'm showing my age now.) But can anyone see the resemblance?

Purple experiment

My purple experiment has good timing, since it is coinciding with  Fibromyalgia Awareness Day and Autoimmune Arthritis Awareness day. May is also World Lupus Awareness Month. If anyone is interested in attending, there is a Facebook event here.

I had a good friend named Gwen who had lupus. I also am personally affected by fibromyalgia and arthritis (non auto-immune), and my grandfather has rheumatoid arthritis. I know a lot of other people who are also affected by these painful, life-changing conditions as well.

I used Dangerous Driver by Darling Diva which is always described as a purple/pink duochrome in swatches and usually looks that way. I also pulled out an old Glitter Gal holo called Dark Purple (it might be named Crushed Ego now?)

Please excuse the cleanup! Camera closeups always catch a few specks the naked eye can't, especially with holos!

I used Layla Ceramic Effect #10 as a base for these. and Layla softouch effect in  #12 (black) with Jade Magia Negra on the ring finger. My pointer finger is the only one that has Dangerous Driver on in these swatches, and it looks more similar to the Glitter Gal than I expected.

I did discover that over black, Dangerous Driver has a surprising effect- almost a brown tone. I will have to post another swatch later.
