Catching up, manis from Instagram

So I still haven't been feeling well but I have posted a few manis on Instagram while I've been under the weather (literally- I'm not just fighting bronchitis, but I live in one of the places that got a crazy amount of snow! Then, we had windchills that this state had not seen in the past 20 years and there were a lot of power outages. Fortunately mine were intermittent and didn't last long, but now that the snow is starting to melt, we are experiencing flooding. Everything was shut down here for almost a week. Just so you all know, my name on instagram is chocoholofreak, so these will be tagged differently.

Literary Lacquers If It Pleases You with an accent of Colors by Laura K You're Shrinking, Gilbert!
The Literary Lacquers took 2-3 coats to reach full opacity because it's a jelly holo. I thought it would be darker, but maybe it looks darker on other people because of their skin tone? It is a really nice color with a strong holo. My grandmother really liked the color on me when she saw it, and she even said she would wear it- and she almost never wears nail polish and almost no makeup except lipstick.
The Colors by Laura K speaks for itself- it's a nice shimmery purple, and she said that she used something different than glitter to facilitate easy removal. There is also holo in it. I do't know how she did it, but it really didn't take forever to get off or a huge amount of effort. I didn't think to use glitter-a-peel or anything first so it did take me 2 tries but it was no hassle.

This was my mani for New Years' Eve! On my pinky and pointer finger are Girly Bits Purple Potion. On my ring and middle finger are Zoya Carter, a textured purple polish. I was surprised at how closely these matched on my camera, since Carter is a more red-toned purple. My ring finger has Cirque XX, which I've previously mentioned is my favorite rainbow glitter so far. (warning- post contains adult language)

Anyway, I had a really bad break on my middle fingernail that turned out to be beyond repair, and then on my right hand my thumbnail broke down really low (like bandaid for a week low) so I didn't do my nails at all for awhile. The nails on my right hand were so short that I had to use Rejuvacote to even get them to nub status. So the next post you see from me will probably be my rarely seen right hand.

Bellskandi Plumberry & a ring!

Well I finally have another mouse, although it isn't pretty and purple like my other one.

I always tend to get overexcited about trends and want to BUY ALL THE COLORS (well, all the shades of blue, green, and purple.)

I love thermal polish and I wasn't able to get the Dance Legend thermo glitter that went from white to black and had silver glitter- but I did come across a review of Bellskandi Plumberry, which was described as going from blue to purple- and she also makes matching jewelry!

Well, I was just experimenting with different polishes and I was really excited that the ring really does change color. So does the polish. It is sheer though, so if you have any cracks or imperfections in your nails they will show. I had a big crack in my Infamous Wonky Nail that shows in my 2nd picture- but you can also see how the thermal polish created a gradient effect.

Ok- pinky-thumb
I had various purples and some stars from the Born Pretty store (part of a contest entry you will see later)- ring is Enchanted Kids, middle finger is Picture Polish Violet Femme with the Bellskandi Plumberry on top and some Ninja Polish nebula on the tip and my index finger has Plumberry over January Morning by Girly Bits.

Blue tint when cold
Purple Tint when warm
(my thumb also has some leftover glitter I tried on)- I think it's Darling Diva Blue on Black. I just dabbed a little on, because my boyfriend said that it looked like cookies and cream in the bottle and I was trying to show him that the glitter was actually blue!

My first Enchanteds and NFU-oh's!

I was able to get my very first Enchanted Polishes, thanks to the lovely Leah at llarowe making sure people could only get one bottle of each color. I got them in the mail yesterday!!

I have been wanting to try some of these colors for months! I wasn't able to get Ocean Potion, since it seemed to sell out in .02 of a nanosecond. I also wasn't able to get any of the Dance Legend holos.

From left to right (over Layla softouch effect in black)- sit back and get comfortable, since I went a little buckwild this time!

I think the thumb is Magical Mystery Tour? It looks so similar to Across the Universe (on my pinky) that I was having difficulty telling. My thumbnail got a crack on the side and broke beyond repair. I tried using the teabag method to fix it, but I couldn't get the glue to stick right.

Hey Jude is on my pointer finger. That was my rogue wonky nail, but it broke :( I don't know why Hey Jude looks so silver in the pictures. I thought it would look more similar to my ring finger.
My middle finger has Ciao Milano on it (similar colors to Magical Mystery Tour and Across the Universe, but made entirely of glitter!) It reminds me of Jupiter Aurora by Coco Allure. Has anyone done any comparisons?
I also put a holo I got from Pixie Polish on top of Ciao Milano to add some extra rainbowy-ness.
My ring Finger has Deviantly Daring by China Glaze. Then I added Cosmic Forces by Girly Bits to add a blue tint. I also got my first NFU-oh's (I heard the flakies are being discontinued soon!) I tried doing a split of  the flakies #54 and #56.

I guess you can see the flakies more from this angle:
(Excuse the cleanup- at first I tried using Orion by Crowstoes on my pointer finger but I didn't like the shade of green it turned out as.. but for some reason the green in Hey Jude is not wanting to show up in these pictures at all!)

Enchanted is also known for their lovely packaging. They have a castle on both the bottle an the box.

With flash in my bathroom lighting, there's too much glare to see it: (Holding a bottle of Hey Jude- notice my pointer fingernail now looks purple instead of gray/silver? The bottle also looks kind of purple)
With the flash off, you can see the famous castle logo, and the bottle and my pointer finger FINALLY look green!

The logo also reminds me of a cool Gothic clock that style.ly had on their Facebook page the other day. That picture is here.

Skittles and Accidental Rainbow Nails

These are the first swatches I have been brave enough to show anybody,

The first is a.. sort of skittles inspired by the very nice followgashin. Here is a link to the great mani that she did.

From left to right I used:
Essie Dive Bar as a base color. My pointer finger and pinky are layered with Girly bits Cosmic Ocean. My ring finger has Hits Cutie Pie, with another layer of Ozotic 903 to add some sparkle.

My middle finger has Zoya Zuza on it. So does my thumb.

A few days later, I created an accidental rainbow!

I had Zoya Zuza on my thumb, and was trying a rainbow foil for the first time. I had no idea what I was doing but I ended up with some cool rainbows left behind.

Welcome to my first swatching adventure and thanks for reading!
